II. Berlin- ed: In a hurry

It’s one of those days when you feel like you’re not ready.

It’s 11am. The house is empty, the sun is shining through and you feel like you might’ve been in a fist fight the previous night. A lazy slob whose finally reached a long enough destination.

No no, today isn’t the day.

You ask a friend, what’s a good place to start?  Alexanderplatz he says.
When you’re there in July, it’s crowded.  Haven’t seen this kinda crowd hanging around with nothing to do, in a month. It’s easy to feel at home already. Let’s take our time with this comfort.

A long afternoon chat with a friend that one hasn’t seen, in a long time and has been missed quite a bit.

The city is getting warmer through these conversations.

It’s time to head to Hauptbahnhof to discuss water and sanitation.

A short ride on a S- Bahn from Hackescher Markt and you’re at the Hauptbahnhof.

Awaiting judgement.

An old man begins talking in an east European language that one has no understanding of. His tone and actions can communicate, but not the words.

That was interesting.

It’s a long walk back to Checkpoint Charlie. Time to get home and share some stories of the day.

Every one is busy but one must learn to enjoy the commotion. Easier said than done.
It’s time to see the city without its people- through a walk alone in the night. That is not the case in Berlin, during summer.
One realizes soon enough that it isn’t a city, without the people.
